I just upgraded 2 old Gibson pickups to Seymour Duncan SH-2 (Jazz Model) and SH-4 (Jeff Beck) pickups. After changing I was curious about the sound of wiring the pickups 1) Single Coil and 2) Out-of-phase as well. Both was a must have, so I decided to place 2 extra switches in the guitar.
